What a fun spring break we had! We were all ready for some sunshine and warmth so we headed south for a couple of days. Our kids had the whole week off so we left on Sunday. All eight of us plus the dog of course! The kids did great on the long drive down. Thank goodness for DVD players. What did we do when I was a kid? Oh yeah, slept! On Monday we went to a "glitter pit." It was a glass mine out in the boonies where some cool type of rock (don't know my rocks) was found for the temple. It was so fun. The kids loved it. We did a little bit of hiking there and then went to another spot where there are some Indian writings. Quite educational! We took the kids to Kohls and let them all pick out a summer outfit for Easter. They kind of liked that I think. We spent lots of time at a fun park that is within walking distance from the house. It was a "big kid" park with lots of fun play things that the bigger kids could play on. On Tuesday we went out to Snow Canyon. (my favorite) It was sooooo beautiful. We hiked and hiked and hiked. Our little girls are part mountain goat I think. Brynlee didn't miss a beat. Looking back, I can't believe we took her some of the places we did. She had a blast and did great. The weather was perfect! We loved playing in the sand dunes also. It felt so good. We were able to spend lots of time at the pool also. It was about 83 on Tues. Perfect for suntanning! I got a pretty good tan. Only a little sun burn for the kids. Then we headed home on Wednesday. We had a good time. Thanks to Brent and Alicia for letting us stay at their house! And thanks to Dan and Jeannie for the yummy food and letting the kids spoil the kittens!

My Little Girls
We have had a little bit of excitement in the house I guess. First, Sydney was so excited that she lost her very 1st tooth! It was such a milestone and was so brave. It popped right of her mouth while Travis was wiggling it. Then exactly one week later she lost another one!

She is such a girly girl! The other first we had last week was Sydney's first dance recital. She was so excited for it. Her costume was darling and she did soooo good dancing. I was afraid she would get up there and stand, but she did all the steps and looked so cute. I was very proud of her.
Brynlee had a first also! I have always been able to trim her hair here and there over the past, but it was time for her first real hair cut done by a professional. She was blessed with my straight, fine hair and we all know that dad didn't help at all on that either so we had to go short. I really hope it thickens out as she gets older. Poor girl! But it sure looks cute doesn't it?

Catch up
My life is kind of boring and I really have not had anything to exciting to blog about. I have enjoyed the warm sunshine the past couple of days and wish it was here to stay. However, we live in Cache Valley so we get to wait a little while for the real nice temps like the 70s and above. Some time I think I should not watch the weather forecast and see that SL is so much warmer that us. It just makes me sad. We have been able to go outside and enjoy it the last couple of days though so that is good. I finally got around to decorating Dylan's room for his birthday. He has been upstairs for a couple of years and has never got to have his room the way he would like it. So for his birthday I bought him a new bed spread and decorated the walls for him. He was totally surprised and seems to love it. With spring comes the business of the kids activities. Soccer will be starting soon for Sydney and Dylan. Sydney has a dance recital and Peyton has a band concert both on the same night. Not sure what we are going to do there. Matthew and Emily had piano recitals a while ago and Peyton and Dylan are getting ready for theirs. I love the kids being involved, but sometimes it really gets tiring! We are looking forward to going to St. George for spring break. We are praying for warm weather. Every time we go down, we take the "unseasonably cold weather" with us. Here are a couple of pics of Dylan's room.
